Whether you’re launching your first internship or stepping into a leadership role, our career support is built around you. Students at every level—undergraduate and graduate—get access to a dedicated career advisor, plus hands-on resources like résumé reviews, mock interviews, negotiation prep, and networking opportunities. We focus on the pathways that matter most to you—public, private, nonprofit, or somewhere in between—and we’re with you every step of the way.

Career Launch

Undergrads, graduate students, and alumni from the School of Public and International Affairs can access Career Launch, our online career resource portalto explore job opportunities and resources for career development.

  • Access job and internship postings
  • Schedule an appointment with career services
  • Submit internship paperwork
  • Events – view the schedule of career services events, including professional development workshops, alumni career panels, and employer information sessions. Register for the event directly on the site to be sent updates and reminders!
  • Document Library – download professional development resources, such as resume and interviewing guides to help get you started on your job search! You can also link directly to several additional SPIA and Pitt tools that you have access to as a student

Undergraduate students in the School of Public and International Affairs continue to receive support through the University of Pittsburgh Career Center. Our team works closely with the Pitt Career Center to ensure a coordinated, enriching experience that supports students’ professional growth and long-term success.

Internships

MPIA, MID, or MPA students are required to complete a 300-hour internship relevant to academic and career goals, gaining real-world experience across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.
