Cindy Pan is a PhD student at the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA). Her research interests lie at the intersection of gender, health, technology, and democracy, with a particular focus on how digital technologies shape women’s social and political empowerment and advance gender equality. She is interested in examining the implications of these dynamics for women’s health and well-being, as well as for broader patterns of democratic inclusion and accountability. Cindy is passionate about participatory research methods and community-engaged research praxis. She has been involved in the Ford Institute’s Online Violence Against Women in Politics (OVAW-P) and Gender Equality in Public Administration (GEPA) working groups. She is currently studying Turkish with the goal of conducting her dissertation fieldwork in Türkiye.
