
University of Pittsburgh School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA) alumni are a dynamic global network of leaders and innovators driving meaningful change and making a powerful impact on the world. Their accomplishments inspire future generations and reflect the values at the heart of our school. Through our Alumni Awards program, we proudly recognize and celebrate alumni whose leadership, service, and impact exemplify the mission of the school.
Anyone may nominate a SPIA alum for an award. Self-nominations are welcome.

Rising Star Award
The Rising Star Award honors the accomplishments of exceptional recent graduates who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement, leadership as an individual contributor, and impact on their industry, place of work, or their peers within their early career. This award celebrates individuals who exemplify the school’s commitment to public service and global engagement.
*This award is open to degreed alumni from the University of Pittsburgh School of Public and International Affairs who have graduated within the past 10 years or who are under the age of 40.

Impact Award
The Impact Award is the highest recognition bestowed by the University of Pittsburgh School of Public and International Affairs. This prestigious award recognizes alumni who have made significant and lasting contributions to their profession, community, or society and whose leadership and commitment to public service exemplify the school’s mission to create change locally and globally.
*This award is open to both degreed and non-degreed alumni from the University of Pittsburgh School of Public and International Affairs.
