- African Studies
The Center for African Studies strives to provide a rich learning environment that facilitates a comprehensive and critical understanding of the continent to help students grasp Africa's internal dynamics and evolving place on the international stage. The center offers two certificates for graduate students.
The Certificate in African Studies is designed for students who wish to intensify their study of Africa generally and any specific African countries of their interest. Students from any professional schools or departments have the opportunity to participate in the program through courses, internships, workshops and study abroad in Africa.

Students complete a set of relevant area studies coursework and achievement of a certain level of proficiency in a world language relevant to that region.

- Asian Studies
Asia has long been a hub of culture, ideas, population, and economy. The Asian Studies Center currently offers two distinct certificates to encourage increasing expertise in Asian Studies and to help contextualize your primary academic program.
Graduate students wishing to intensify their study of a country or region in Asia will gain a deeper and broader perspective by enrolling in the Graduate Certificate in Asian Studies. This program is suitable for students who intend to use their Asian studies knowledge in careers such as social and public policy programs, the US Foreign Service, international NGOs, multinational corporations, and higher education.

This thematic, self-designed certificate asks students to consider Asia in terms of specific transnational flows, and combines thematic content, language, and research to create a dynamic certificate.

- Global Studies
The Global Studies Center promotes critical thinking and practical engagement with the world through the interdisciplinary study of of transnational processes. Learn to think critically and engage with the world by studying globalization through the lens of changing identities; communication, technology, and society; conflict and conflict resolution; global economy and global governance; global health; and sustainable development.
The Graduate Certificate in Global Studies is designed for students who desire a deeper understanding of social and economic inequality in transnational context and facilitates the contextualization of the student’s major within the dominant political and economic trends.

The Center for Latin American Studies promotes global understanding through support for teaching, learning, and research in and on Latin America, the Caribbean, and the diverse diasporic communities of Latin American and Caribbean origin. The Center offers two graduate certificates in Latin American Studies and coordinates resources relating to Latin America and the Caribbean including lectures, conferences, cultural events, funding opportunities, and more.
The Graduate Certificate in Latin American Studies is a multidisciplinary program of study designed for students who want to graduate with a credential that indicates a specialization on this region of the world in addition to their master's or doctorate.

The Graduate Certificate in Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies is designed for students who seek a regional and intellectual focus on Russia, the former USSR, or Eastern Europe to complement their disciplinary or professional degree.

Expand your knowledge of the European Union by studying from a historical, economic, political, sociological, legal and public policy perspective. The European Studies Center has been designated a Jean Monnet European Union Center of Excellence, promoting the study and knowledge of the European Union, including its institutions and policies.
The West European Studies Certificate provides students with strong interests in predominantly Western European history, culture, politics, and languages to complement their major with a regional specialization.
